Ja Rule Says 50 Cent Told Him His Plan To Tear Down The Industry
Ja Rule has revisited his bitter rivalry with 50 Cent after the rapper claims the fellow Queens music legend set out to tear down the industry from the gate.
In a recent conversation with Math Hoffa, Ja Rule detailed a conversation he had with the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ MC, decades ago, in which he shared his desire to hop on a record together. Seemingly, everything was cool.
“I use to go over to Jam Master Jay’s studio — when he was signed to JMJ because Black Child was over there. He was also signing to JMJ,” began Rule, framing the story for the panel consisting of Hoffa, Mecc, Champ, Bigga, and Gat.
“So I go over there. Go see my n-gga Black. And, you know… I was already on. I had a record deal with my n-ggas Cash Money Click — so he used to kick it with me,” Ja Rule continued before revealing “he [50 Cent] used to want to do a record with me.” But, the “record never got done,” Jah revealed, citing his busy schedule.
“I got nothing against him but the record never got done — I’m busy. I’m running around. I’m trying to do things. It’s no slight to nobody. It just didn’t happen.”

Later, the “Always On Time” recording artist shocked the panel when he revealed he had a convo with Fif, in which he alleged the “Power” creator shared his plan to step on others in order to reach the top — including initiating one of hip-hop’s longest-lasting, most-heated beefs.
“We had our first encounter in Atlanta. We had a talk. Uncle Chaz came to me, said, ‘Yo. Homie ’bout to pull up would you want to have a conversation?’ I said alright cool, we’ll have a conversation,” said Jah.

“And, when we had a conversation — ‘Yo it’s just a record. Ya know I’m just trying to get out there,’ he continued, mimicking Fif’s defense for releasing tracks like his 1999 scathing diss, “Life’s on the Line” — taking aim at Jah Rule and Murder Inc.
“Chump shit. Whack shit. — I’m a real artist n-gga. I’m a real n-gga. This is whack to me n-gga. I don’t give a fuck. If we’re gonna talk about it. Let’s talk about it. And, I know what n-ggas is gonna say at home. ‘Why are you talking about this thirty years later?’ I don’t want to talk about this. My n-ggas right here want to talk about this,” he said, looking into the camera while acknowledging the panel.
“To me, that’s not a real artist. That’s not a real man. It’s not a real n-gga. You know what I’m saying? To want to pull down other n-ggas to pull yourself up. That ain’t my style. If you a real n-gga, go make your records and shine.”
50 Cent and Ja Rule’s feud dates back to the 90s when Ja was allegedly robbed by one of 50’s associates. Things reached a fever pitch in the early 2000s when the pair traded vicious diss tracks like “Wanksta” and “Loose Change,” not to mention actual blows.
While the pair has since transitioned to exchanging blows on social media, Jah recently shared that he’s placing his energy towards the idea of selling off his lucrative catalog but admitted his deal would be structured differently than most artists’ agreements.
